1500 tree saplings to enhance green cover at Railway Hospital, Mysuru

Mysuru: South Western Railway, Mysuru Division partnered with Schneider Electric India Private limited and an NGO, Communitree to plant 1500 trees at Divisional Railway Hospital, Mysuru.
The Railways undertake extensive plantation of trees every year. Besides increasing the green cover over the Railway land, planting of tree saplings and harvesting of mature trees is a continuous process.
Saplings of 10 different indigenous species of tree namely Neem, Jamun, Guava, Mango, Mahogani, Rosewood, Fig etc were planted. The drive is aimed to create a self-sustained dense microforest with objective to make city greener, cleaner and to reduce carbon footprint.
Amit Kumar, Vice president and SBU head MPS, Schneider Electric India Private limited inaugurated the event. Devasahayam, ADRM/MYS was the chief guest.
Amit Kumar and Devasahayam emphasized the commitment of Schneider Electric India Private limited and Indian Railways respectively toward greener and cleaner environment, according to Dr Manjunath Kanamadi, Sr Divisional Commercial Manager and Sr PRO.
