Heaps of plastic waste chokes Lingambhudi lake
1 min readMysuru: The City may have earned Five Stars for being the Clean City, but at the heart of it, more needs to be done. Take the case of Lingambhudi Lake.
The lake with historical significance, is choked with plastic waste and what not.
Heaps of plastic and other wastes from nearby areas like Vivekananda Nagar, Ramakrishna Nagar and areas near Ring Road are clogging the lake.
Especially, waste from Kanakadasa Nagar that flows into the lake is slowly killing the water body.
While residents clearly have no concern for the water body, the authorities concerned too have turned a blind eye to it.
It may be recalled here that many environment activists have brought the issue to the notice of the district administration and the civic body but in vain.
