MBBS student tests positive at Gandhinagar in Mysuru! Road sealed down
1 min readMysuru: A MBBS student has tested positive for Covid-19 in the city. The 24-year-old woman is pursuing second year MBBS at Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences ( CIMS), Chamarajanagar.
According to sources close to the family, the infected is a resident of 12th main, near Siddappaji temple, Gandhinagar in the city. Ever since the lockdown was announced and classes were abruptly called off, she had returned to her house here.
Recently, she had gone for shopping at a mart in Shivarampet. After that, she developed sore throat and went to K R Hospital for swab test. The results came out on Monday evening confirming that she has the virus.
She was later shifted to Covid-19 Hospital, where she is being treated in isolation ward. The woman’s parents and three siblings including two sisters have been quarantined at home. Besides, the travel history is being tracked to identify contacts if any.
As a precautionary measure, MCC personnel sanitised the particular road with disinfectant on Tuesday. It has been declared as a containment and sealed down.
