Mysuru: Former minister and Krishnaraja BJP MLA S A Ramadass has assured that no opportunity will be given to demolish religious structures in the district.

In a press release, Ramadass has stated that ” It is our duty to safeguard the interests of the people without hurting their religious sentiments. Efforts are on to hand over such religious structures to respective administrative committees and prepare khata for those structures. Hence people should show courage and stay calm,” appealed Ramadass to the people irrespective of religion.

Ramadass has also clarified that 101 Ganapathi temple and other religious structures were built before 2009. So, there is no question of clearing those structures.

Measures are being taken to legalise those structures in both MCC and MUDA limits by taking a suitable decision.

It is unfortunate that a situation of hurting religious sentiments is created, due to the confusion over the Supreme Court order.

In other States, Rules and Regulations were brought in along with the Act to regularise those structures after submitting to the Supreme Court. Similar measures can be replicated in Karnataka, besides submitting an affidavit that, henceforth no such structures will be allowed to come up in future.

The chief minister has positively responded, the release added.
