Mysuru: A girl from Mysuru is working for the cause of Indians, who are spending hard times amid bombing and shelling at war hit Ukraine.
Dr Pallavi G K is doing her higher education at Leeds University, United Kingdom. She is a graduate of Government Nature Cure and Yoga Medical College, Brindavan Extension in Mysuru.
Ever since the war broke out between Russia and Ukraine, Pallavi volunteered to be a part of Platform for Ukraine, Ukraine-India networks. She coordinated for the safe passage of students stranded in Ukraine.
Pallavi who was a part of voluntary services in Mysuru, continued with it even after shifting to UK for higher studies where she engaged in voluntary service in global humanitarian crisis.
She is a part of the Proud Indians network in international level and helps to safeguard students at Ukraine and takes care of them till they return home safely.
When it comes to physically serving food, taking students to the shelter and guiding them face to face at the border, Jyoti another volunteer plays a vital role. When it comes to managing the work, arranging important contacts to provide suitable help to the students, writing and tweeting to governments and many more, Pallavi plays a vital role.
Sakshi and Rakshita have also played a pivotal role in the entire evacuation relief work, be it arranging networks in Romania, Poland or coordinating with the team and the students in need.
Nemi’s contribution in the process has been as unique as her name is. She has been silently involved in all the tasks that came in during the entire relief process. And she has very calmly managed the overall work for many days which was too hectic to handle for long.
Lumbini, Payal, Vaishali tai and Dr Neena, Madhuri madam, Shraddha, Shital, Minal, Spandana and Jagjyot joined us late in the journey, but they have also been the most important co-passengers without which this humanitarian journey could not have become encouraging and full of strengths.
Be it at Kyiv, Kharkhiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and many other regions, these volunteers made coordinated efforts to send back the students to their mother land.
On International Women’s Day one of the male volunteer of The Platform team Rajiv Khobragade specially wished these active women’s brigade for working on a war footing.
