Biography of Babruvahana film director Hunsur Krishnamurthy to hit stands on October 2

Mysuru: A biography of maverick Sandalwood film director of yesteryears Hunsur Krishnamurthy is all set to be released on October 2 at Natana School of Theatre Arts, Ramakrishna Nagar in the city at 10.30 AM.

The biography titled ‘Chitralokada Abhijatha Bheru Hunsur Krishnamurthy’ authored by Dr Sathish Chandra D after extensive study and research will be released by Dr Narahari K Hunsur former Dean of M S Ramaiah University of Applied Science, Bengaluru. Sandalwood film Director Bhargava will inaugurate the programme. N S Sridhar Murthy known as ‘Encyclopedia of Sandalwood’ will speak on the book.

Hunsur Krishnamurthy who was a resident of Ramanuja road till his death in 1989, directed Award winning films such as Veerasankalpa, Jaga Mechchida Maga, Babruvahana, Bhakta Kumbara, Satya Harishchandra to name a few.

The mythological films were his forte and most of them had thespian actor Dr Rajkumar in the lead role. Some of them also won national awards and still remain to be the favourite films to be watched on TV again and again.

Hunsur Krishnamurthy was also known as a lyricist par excellence.

Folk exponent Dr P K Rajashekar, writer A,N Prahlad Rao, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru district unit President Maddikere M Gopal, Natana President K S Anand, theatre person and actor Mandya Ramesh, U S Mahesh, publisher of Roopa Publications, Mysuru, family members of Hunsur Krishnamurthy will be present.
