PM Modi to inaugurate Shivamogga airport on Feb 27
1 min readNew Delhi: Preparations are in full swing in Shivamogga to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will inaugurate the newly-built airport on Monday. Potholes that had not been cared for all these days are being filled up and pavements are being given a quick wash to deck up the streets.
On Monday,PM Modi will inspect the newly-built airport and is also expected to lay foundation stone for multiple projects in the district/ The airport has been developed at a cost of Rs 450 cr and according to reports the passenger terminal building of the airport can handle 300 passengers per hour. The airport will provide connectivity and accessibility with the neighbouring Malnad region.
The prime minister is also expected to lay the foundation stone for two railway projects – Shivamogga- Shikaripura- Ranebennur and Koteganguru railway coaching depot. With the new coaching depot in Shivamogga, it is expected to decongest facilities in Bengaluru and Mysuru.
PM Modi will also visit Belagavi where he is expected to release the 13th instalment amount of Rs 16000 cr under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
