Koneya Nildana! Grave digger Neelamma to do real role on screen
2 min readMysuru: Apt to the film title “Koneya Nildana” (The Last Stop), the crew members held its “muhurat” at Lingayat Rudrabhoomi (burial ground) at Vidyaranyapuram here on Monday.
Mysuru Mayor Shivakumar M who clapped for the movie, wished the crew members good luck.
“As the title suggests, the movie is all about the life’s journey that will have its last stop here in Rudrabhoomi. I am told that the movie is about Neelamma, a woman grave digger in men’s shoes, who has been working in Rudrabhoomi. I wish the movie, a grand success,” said Mayor Shivakumar.
Harish S Kolar, a resident of US is producing the movie and veteran actor M D Koushik is helming the film. Interestingly, he is also playing an YouTuber in the movie.
Neelamma has been working in Rudrabhoomi for over three decades and has made thousands’ of souls’ journey, a graceful one. She has dug over thousand burial pits and helped in the last rites. She will essay her “real” role in the movie.
The starcast includes Mahesh Devu, Puja Raghunandan of Hassan, Meese Anjanappa Basavaraj Mysuru, Ugram Suresh, Nani Hebbal and others.
Prof Doddarangegowda, Krishna Prasad of Australia and Madhu Akki Hebbal of US have composed the lyrics and Ramprasad of ‘Mudal Kunigalkere’ fame has scored the music for the movie.
Ramprasad, Supriya Raghunandan and Samhitha Suresh have lent their voices. While P V R Swami is the Cinematographer, B Shivananda has penned the dialogues. The whole movie will be shot in the Rudrabhoomi.
