First State Chess Tournament for Children with Visual Impairment concludes in Mysuru
1 min readMysuru: The inaugural Karnataka State Chess Tournament for Children with Visual Impairment, organised by Bengaluru-based EquiBeing Foundation in collaboration with the Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Government of Karnataka and the Karnataka State Chess Association for Visually Challenged, concluded successfully at the Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry in the city.
The event, a first-of-its-kind in the state, witnessed enthusiastic participation from visually impaired children across Karnataka.
Sudhanva D, Managing Director and CEO of Excelsoft Technologies, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the audience, he expressed his gratitude for being part of this meaningful initiative and congratulated the winners for their exceptional performances.
Winners in the Open Category:
1. 1st Prize: Ramith H M (Shree Sharada Devi Andhara Vikasa Kendra, Shivamogga)
2. 2nd Prize: Sangamesh (Shree Sharada Devi Andhara Vikasa Kendra, Shivamogga)
3. 3rd Prize: Sukrut Yankappa Yalahatti (Maheshwari Blind School, Belagavi)
Winners in the Girls’ Category:
1. 1st Prize: Keerthi Shivappa Kumbar (Maheshwari Blind School)
2. 2nd Prize: Ramya Ganesh Lamani (Maheshwari Blind School, Belagavi)
3. 3rd Prize: Kavita Ravi Madivalar (Maheshwari Blind School, Belagavi)
Ananthalakshmi V, CEO of EquiBeing Foundation, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all participants, referees, winners, and volunteers. She also thanked her team for their coordinated efforts in making the tournament a success.
