AAP leader cum farmer sets a model as SDMC head in K R Nagar
2 min readMysuru: Paramesh, a farmer by profession and President of School Development Monitoring Committee (SDMC), Government Higher Primary School, Kanchugarakoppalu, Chunchunakatte hobli, K R Nagar taluk in the district, is also the Organising Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), K R Nagar.
Ever since his joining the SDMC, two and half years ago, he has been donning many hats for the betterment of the school, according to G R Vidyaranya, Media Coordinator, AAP Mysuru.
Paramesh has personally cleaned the drinking water tank of the School which was not cleaned since many years and made arrangement for its regular cleaning.
In addition he has looked after the cleanliness of toilets in the school, took feedback on teaching and other activities from students and given feedback to the teachers.
Besides, he has grown Bananas in the school compound and regularly distributes the fruits equally among all children. Now, that the school is closed he even makes home delivery when children or parents are unable to collect it. He has ensured that all entitlements from the government have reached the children.
This is the only school in the taluk where children have received 3-line socks. From SDMC funds he has got them two pairs of footwear, soap, towels, mirror and comb in toilet.
He also supervises their mid-day meals. He gets the coconut from the trees in school compound and after utilizing some for mid-day meals auctions the rest and from that money he has gotten the signboard of school painted.
However he has some regrets. Though he managed to get the computers fixed, the students are not getting any benefit as there is no teacher to teach them and the only teacher who was in the school earlier has been transferred.
His reporting of these lacunae to the local MLA and BEO has not been of any use either.
The villagers are also satisfied with the selfless service of Paramesh. Thus, he is the role model for all other Government school’s SDMC Presidents.
