AAP State vice-president Bhaskar Rao joins BJP

Bengaluru: Aam Admi Party’s prominent face in Bengaluru and former Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao joined BJP in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Rao had resigned from IPS and had joined AAP in April last year and he was made the party’s manifesto committee chairman. He was the party’s State vice-president. He was hoping to contest on AAP ticket from Basavanagudi, it is said. His presence had indeed given a boost to the Arvind Kejriwal-led party that is desperate to make inroads into Karnataka. It was banking on Rao and several of its prominent names. However, Rao’s move has not only surprised but has shocked the party leaders.
