Acid attack: Cops take accused Nagesh’s brother, parents into custody; quiz them at undisclosed location

Bengaluru: As the acid attack survivor continues to battle for life at the burns ward of St John’s Hospital, police have intensified the search for the accused.
Meanwhile, the police have taken into custody Ramesh Babu the older brother of accused Nagesh and their parents and are interrogating them at an undisclosed location.
Nagesh who attacked the 24-year-old girl outside her office near Sunkadakatte bus stand on Thursday, called his brother Ramesh Babu over phone soon after the attack.
He reportedly told Ramesh Babu that ‘he has attacked her with acid and better escape’.
Nagesh who was in love with the girl for seven years was insisting her for marriage.
However the girl had repeatedly turned down his proposal, and she rejected him on the eve of the attack also. Angered, Nagesh had allegedly warned her about attacking with acid.
Kamakshipalya police are investigating the case.
