Activist Mantelingaiah dies at 75
1 min readMysuru: Activist and AJMS leader Mantelingaiah passed away on Monday. He was 75.
A native of Malavalli in Mandya district, Mantelingaiah was a resident of Kesare in city. Mantelingaiah who was convicted in the murder case of one Gangamma, was recently released from jail, after serving life sentence.
He was at home, when he complained of uneasiness and was rushed to a hospital nearby, where he breathed his last.
According to sources close to Mantelingaiah’s family, the mortal remains of Mantelingaiah has been kept at his residence to enable his followers to pay their last respects.
Social Welfare Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa who is also the District Incharge Minister visited the house of Mantelingaiah and paid his last respects.
The last rites of Mantelingaiah will be performed on Tuesday at Gandhinagar burial grounds in the city.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
