After by-election, Gruha Lakshmi scheme will be stopped: H D Deve Gowda
2 min readChannapatna/Ramanagara: The State Congress government has emptied the treasury. There are no funds to deposit money in the account of beneficiaries of Gruha Lakshmi scheme across the state, but they have credited money specifically to the accounts of women in Channapatna constituency with an eye on the by-election, alleged former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda.
While campaigning in support of NDA candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy in Channapatna Assembly constituency, he accused the Congress government of engaging in unlimited election malpractices, even misusing their guarantee schemes.
“This government is bankrupt. After the election, they’ll stop depositing money again. Out of the five guarantees, one has already been withdrawn. They don’t even have money to fill potholes in Bengaluru; people are furious,” the former Prime Minister said in anger.
Who is Channapatna’s Bhagiratha?
“Send Nikhil to Vidhana Soudha (the state legislative assembly). That young man will raise his voice on your behalf. Don’t have any doubts about that,” he said.
“I am a farmer’s son and you are the children of farmers. This Deve Gowda, who built the Iggaluru dam, is still alive. The one who provided water to 17 lakes is called Bhagiratha. If this dam hadn’t been built, would it have been possible to get water?” the former Prime Minister asked the people.
In the Channapatna constituency, Kumaraswamy has done development works worth Rs 1,600 crore. The current government is doing only minor tasks. Kumaraswamy provided this much funding to the constituency to ensure irrigation facilities for every village. From a national perspective, and under the encouragement of Modi, Kumaraswamy went to Delhi and became a Union Minister, he said.
They hijacked candidate from BJP
After Kumaraswamy resigned as MLA of Channapatna constituency, discussions took place about who should be the candidate. D K Shivakumar went around saying, he was the candidate and made everyone believe that. But a day before filing nominations, he suddenly changed his decision and put forward another friend. They hijacked a candidate from the BJP, Deve Gowda criticised.
Nikhil Kumaraswamy stated, “I’ll contest in 2028 Assembly polls, and will focus on building the party.”
A day before filing nominations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah decided to field Nikhil Kumaraswamy. This young man is like your grandson. Elect him to the Vidhana Soudha and bless him. I fold my hands and request you. If our daughters make up their minds, it’s hundred percent certain that Nikhil Kumaraswamy will go to Vidhana Soudha, the former Prime Minister said.
MLAs Samruddhi Manjunath and Sharangouda Kandakur, along with many local leaders, accompanied the former Prime Minister.
