Amit Kumar takes charge as CII Mysuru chairman
2 min readMysuru: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a premium industry body in the country celebrating its 125th year in 2020, has got its new office bearers to lead the Mysuru Zonal Council for the year 2020-2021.
Amit Kumar, currently Vice-Chairman of CII Mysuru and Vice President & Head Metering & Protection System, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Mysore has took over as Chairman of the Mysuru Zonal Council and Pavan G Ranga, CEO of Rangsons Technologies LLP has elected as the Vice-Chairman.
Amit Kumar has worked in the solar photovoltaic industry for 18 years. He is an Electrical Engineer and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management. Amit Kumar is a widely travelled professional and has delivered lectures on renewable energy in more than 12 countries.
Pavan Ranga is a third generation entrepreneur. He is a Managing Partner of N R Group, a diversified business group with interests in Fragrance, FMCG, Natural Extracts, Aerospace and Healthcare. Pavan Ranga hold a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and has attended an Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School. Pavan has had the honour of being ranked 26th in “the most influential people globally in the Electronics Manufacturing industry” in the survey conducted by the renowned research organisation Venture Outsource.
In his acceptance speech Amit Kumar has mentioned that, it is time for Mysuru to come out of the shadow of Bengaluru or any other metros for that sake. Mysuru has its own capabilities to grow on its own and with the growing infrastructure and Industries in and around Mysuru, this city will gain its own brand as any other metro cities in the country.
The outgoing Chairman, Bhaskar Kalale mentioned that, it was a fruitful and satisfying year for him and he has learned many good things during his stint of two years in CII as Vice-Chairman and subsequently as Chairman of the Mysuru Zonal Council. He thanked all the Past Chairmen, Panel Convenors and Co-Convenors for their support to fulfil the agenda set for the year 2019-20.
Pavan in his acceptance speech, offered his best efforts and support to the new Chairman and the Council and will work for the development of Mysuru Zone.
Dr N Muthukumar, Past Chairman CII Karnataka who has also appreciated Bhaskar Kalale for his contribution to the Industry in Mysuru and congratulated the new office bearers. In his address, he has mentioned that the downturns and upturns are a part of the economy and it will pick-up the momentum and Industry will grow soon.
