BBC airs news of Puneeth Rajkumar’s death

Bengaluru: BBC aired the news of death of Sandalwood Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar on Friday night.
London based film critic Ashanti Omkar who spoke about Puneeth Rajkumar recalled how the actor since his childhood had captivated the people, not just an artiste and was into social service as a philanthropist, education champion and donated his eyes like his father Dr Rajkumar also a Superstar of Kannada filmdom.
Recalling the meeting she had with Shivarajkumar the older brother of Puneeth, Ashanti said ” The brothers duo had shared stages in an event recently along with another actor Yash and several hours later the actor is no more.”
Ashanti described how the fans of Puneeth had gathered outside the hospital in large numbers when the news of his death broke out.
It was a matter of deep shock including for myself, said Ashanti Omkar who quoted a line from the condolence message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, described as- cruel twist of fate.
