Bird flu! Avadhoota Datta Peetham takes special care of pets at Shukavana

Mysuru: Avadhoota Datta Peetham which has 4,000 parrots at its Shukavana, is taking special care for the health of pet birds in the wake of bird flu.
On Wednesday Avadootha Datta Peetham’s Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji told media “the birds at Shukavana are not affected by the flu. However, as a precautionary measure birds are being bathed on a weekly basis and nutritious fruits and food are being provided to manage their health condition”
Earlier in the past too, bird flu was reported three times in the district, but the birds here were not affected. Regular spraying of disinfectant and medication helped in keeping the birds healthy. Everyone should take precautionary measures and care with love at their homes, the seer advised.
