BJP’s Sandesh Swamy blames MP and other leaders’ lack of campaigning for his defeat
1 min readMysuru: Sandesh Swamy, BJP candidate who lost to Congress’ Tanveer Sait in Narasimharaja Constituency in the Assembly elections blamed the party leaders for his defeat.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, Swamy, a former mayor, said that no local party leaders campaigned for him in the constituency. They did not prioritise the constituency and even MP Pratap Simha did not show any interest to campaign here, which resulted in party’s poor show.
Although it was anticipated that Hindu votes would lean towards the BJP – following the Congress’ promise to ban Bajrang Dal – majority of Hindu voters supported Congress candidate, Tanvir Sait.
However, he said that he received more votes than what he gained in the last election. He further said that he would work harder to strengthen the party and stay connected with the people.
