Canteen for farmers at Bandipalya APMC yard inaugurated
1 min readMysuru: A canteen for farmers at the Bandipalya APMC premises in Mysuru was inaugurated by District Incharge Minister ST Somashekhar, Urban Development Minister Bhyrathi Basavaraju here on Friday.
The canteen had been set up by the Mysuru Cereals Traders Association.
The ministers inspected the canteen, reviewed hygiene and served food to farmers as well.
Minister Somashekhar said that permission has been granted to build a cold storage on the premises. This was a long-pending demand.
The government has granted Rs 4 core to develop APMCs across the state.
He said that he has directed APMC directors to provide a temporary land to the canteen.
“We will review the canteen for its hygiene, food availability, management of the canteen and its quality. If it’s satisfactory,, then we would decide on allotting a permanent land to it,” the minister said.
Sudha Murty promises Rs 20 lakh to zoo
In response to Minister Somashekhar’s appeal, Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty has promised to donate Rs 20 lakh to the Zoo.
Besides, several NRIs and AKKA organisation too was appealed to donate to the zoo. They are expected to donate, hoped minister Somashekhar.
