Congress candidate Thimmaiah passes litmus test! DC finds no fault in affidavit, quashes BJP’s objections
1 min readMysuru: Congress candidate for the election to Legislative Council from Mysuru- Chamarajanagar Local bodies constituency heaved a sigh of relief as the objections raised against his candidature were quashed at district magistrate’s court aka DC’s court.
BJP candidate R Raghu Kautilya had filed three objections citing anomalies in the affidavits filed by Thimmaiah along with his nomination papers. They were related to non-mentioning of PAN number, confusions over liabilities and ancestral properties.
Senior advocate and Congress legal cell chief A S Ponnanna who appeared on behalf of Thimmaiah argued against the BJP’s objections and finally returning officer and DC Dr Bagadi Goutham concluded with a fresh order to accept nomination papers.
Thimmaiah “we are correct in all the aspects. The objections were just an attempt to stop our campaign, but we will win the election. BJP mindset is exposed in the early stage itself,” Thimmaiah added.
Advocate Sheshagiri Rao argued on behalf of BJP.
