Coronavirus! Govt orders advancement of annual exams, summer vacation

Bengaluru: As Novel Coronavirus is spreading its tentacles in the country, the State Government has decided to take precautionary measures by advancing annual exams from class one to nine and declare summer vacations as soon as possible.
Accordingly a circular dispatched from the office of Commissioner, department of public instructions to deputy commissioners states that ” the annual exams for students of class one to five should be held from March 11 to 16 and for class six to nine within March 23″.
Following a meeting held at the office of health and family welfare department, it was decided to take the precautionary measures by advancing the annual exams and declare summer holidays across the state.
It is applicable to schools irrespective of government, aided and unaided educational Institutions. It may be mentioned that the holiday has been declared to students of pre- KG to class five in Bengaluru effective from March 09.
The decision has been conveyed to deputy directors of public instructions through video conference.
