Covid-19: No need for another lockdown, especially in Bengaluru, says MP Simha
1 min readMysuru: The rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state has sparked a debate over whether to have lockdown or not.
Expressing his opinion, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said that there is no need for another lockdown. “How long can you ask people to stay at home? It’s necessary to balance both life and livelihood,” he observed.
There’s no need for another lockdown and one should not create unnecessary panic, he added.
“The situation is under government’s control. Onus is on the government to save both life and livelihood,” he added.
“Experts had predicted that the country will see deaths in lakhs. But nothing happened as such. The government has taken all the measures to check the spread of the virus,” MP said.
On Bengaluru being compared with Mumbai and Delhi over the surging cases, MP said the situations are different in each of these states. Bengaluru has less active cases so, there’s no question of having a lockdown,” MP Simha said.
