Covid spike in Kerala! Mysuru police on 24/7 vigil at Bavali checkpost

Mysuru: Following the recent spike in Covid cases in neighbouring Kerala, the district police are monitoring the district border round the clock at Bavali checkpost.
SP R Chetan told media persons on Monday ” Round the clock monitoring is undertaken at Kerala Border and RTPCR negative report not less than 72 hours is mandatory along with two doses of vaccine to allow inter-state travellers from God’s own country.”
A team of officials including DySP, Inspector, Health and Revenue department staff are monitoring the screening of travellers.
According to the reports, about 50 lorries, 100 cars, mobikes and five lorries transporting essentials are daily moving between Mysuru and Kerala, he said.
That apart, the district police are tightening security measures and night beat has been intensified to prevent robbery and theft cases. Also a survey of senior citizens is being conducted to keep a tab on their houses, SP Chetan added.
