Dasara stage sees political outbursts: CM Siddaramaiah says won’t resign
2 min readMysuru: Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara-2024, that was inaugurated at Chamundi Hill on Thursday, witnessed political outbursts, especially in the wake of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site scam.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is in the centre of the controversy, with his wife being a beneficiary of the MUDA sites under 50-50 scheme, which has come to singe him in his second term in office, said it loud and clear that he has not committed any wrong and won’t resign as CM.
In his address, Siddaramaiah reassured the public that there is no need to fear about leadership changes in the State.
He further mentioned that G T Devegowda, also a member of the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), is well aware of the truth.
Siddaramaiah expressed his gratitude to Devegowda for his straightforward remarks, stating: “Where there is public blessings, no one can disrupt our work. Devegowda’s words have given us strength and immunity.”
He emphasised that the public had elected the government for a full five-year term, and his administration will continue with development projects.
He proudly stated that he is the only Chief Minister after D Devaraja Urs to have completed a five-year term in office earlier.
Prof Hampa Nagarajaiah’s speech was also praised, where he condemned any conspiracies aimed at dissolving an elected government, noting that such actions damage the democratic system.
The Chief Minister recalled that he along with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar had sought the blessings of Goddess Chamundeshwari for successful implementation of the five guarantee schemes.
He highlighted that over 1.20 crore families have benefited, with an annual benefit of Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 for around 4 crore individuals.
He also acknowledged the immense contributions of Mysuru Maharaja Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar to the development of Mysuru, seeking divine blessings for a bold and successful governance.
