Elephant Taskforce conducts jumbo handling workshop

Mysuru: The Elephant Taskforce conducted a day-long workshop at Mysore Palace premises to practice elephant handling challenges during the jamboo savari procession of Dasara on October 12.
Members of Mysuru Circle Elephant Taskforce, caretakers from the Mysore Palace Dasara elephant camp, mahouts and kavadis participated in the workshop.
They were trained on managing elephants in large crowds along Raja Marga, handling rope barricades and dealing with challenging situations in real-time.
The practice began at Mysore Palace premises with a briefing, followed by a walk-through of the Raja Marga procession route.
CF Malathipriya, DCF Naveen Kumar from the Elephant Taskforce and Mysuru Wildlife DCF I B Prabhugowda were also present.
