Forest personnel rescue jumbo caught in rail barricade
1 min readMysuru: Forest Department personnel at Bandipur Tiger Reserve Forest successfully rescued a 45-year-old elephant, that had been caught under a railway barricade in the Maddur range.
The incident reportedly occurred when two tuskers attempted to cross the railway barricade to reach a farm bordering the forest area. While one tusker managed to cross the barrier, the other got stuck while trying to crawl underneath it.
Fortunately, Forest personnel engaged in snare combing operations, quickly responded to the situation. They managed to rescue the large tusker by removing a section of the railing, freeing the elephant from its predicament.
This successful rescue highlights the dedication and bravery of our forest staff, who consistently put their lives on the line to protect our precious forests and wildlife.
DCF Prabhakaran, Field Director of Bandipur Tiger Reserve, emphasised that such rescues are part of their commitment to wildlife conservation and protection.
