Former IPS officer K Annamalai to join BJP today
1 min readNew Delhi: A year after resigning from Indian Police Service (IPS), K Annamalai will be finally taking the political plunge.
Annamalai is joining BJP in the presence of party National president J P Nadda at the party office at 11 am today.
With this, the speculations are all set to end, as Annamalai had hinted at joining politics, but had not made anything clear about any political party in particular.
Annamalai the Karnataka cadre officer, was in the service for a decade serving in various parts of the state in Udupi, Chikkamagaluru and Bengaluru where he resigned as DCP (south) in June 2019.
A 2011 batch IPS officer of Karnataka cadre, Annamalai started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Karkala sub- division in September 2013, where he was later promoted as SP in January 2015, followed by SP of Chikkamagaluru from 2016 to 18 and was transferred to Bengaluru later.
Annamalai later founded We The Leaders Foundation at his native Tamil Nadu.
