Guruvandana to Shivakumara Swamiji! Tumakuru wears festive look
1 min readTumakuru: Sri Siddaganga Mutt is all decked up for the 115th birth anniversary celebration of late pontiff Sri Shivakumara Swamiji on Friday.
Sri Shivakumara Swamiji is reverred as ‘Nadedaduva Devaru’ ( Walking God) and the birth anniversary is celebrated with a festive fervour as ‘Guruvandana’.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be taking part in the birth anniversary celebration titled ‘Basava Bharata’ as the late seer practiced what 12th century social reformer Basavanna preached during his life time.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa and a galaxy of leaders are taking part in the celebration.
The Gadduge ( where the mortal remains of Shivakumara Swamiji) was laid to rest is all decorated with flowers of different hues, on the premises of the Mutt.
The Mutt complex is also illuminated giving a festive look to the occasion.
