Information and Public Relations Department to effectively use new age media: Commissioner Dr P S Harsha

Bagalkot: Dr P S Harsha Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department said “the department is all prepared to make use of new age media in taking the government schemes and development works to the people”.
Harsha who presided over the meeting of information officers of various districts of North Karnataka at Patrika Bhavan on Friday, gave a call to the officers and staff to improve their capacity to reach the information to the media.
Saying that the measures have been taken to bring in reforms in the working style of the officers in the department, Harsha said “However it will be soon decided at the government level”.
The other plans include bridging gap between the central office and district level offices, revision of cadre and recruitment (C&R) rules.
Most importantly, the officers should adopt effective communication skills by preparing Bar charts and infographics about the government’s programmes.
He also informed that required basic infrastructural facilities will be created at district level offices.
The information officers from Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Viayanagar, Ballari, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Dharwad, Belagavi, Haveri and other districts attended the meeting.
The office-bearers of Bagalkot District Working Journalists Association led by their Vice- President Umesh Pujar felicitated Harsha.
