Inmates of Shaktidhama pay singing tributes to their Rajakumara

Mysuru: Actor Puneeth Rajkumar had donned many roles both on screen and off screen. He had endeared himself to people not just as an actor, but also as a social social worker and philanthropist.
It was evident with Puneeth donating Rs 18 lakh to Shakthidama which he earned from Kannadada Kotyadhipathi a popular quiz show aired on a channel.
Shaktidhama located near the foothill of Chamundi had organised a condolence meet on Saturday.
Shaktidhama a centre to rehabilitate destitute women was founded by Dr Rajkumar’s family in 1998, with Parvathamma Rajkumar as a trustee. While in the year 2000, Rajkumar organised a musical nite a charity event to raise funds for Shakthidama.
G S Jayadev who is associated with Shaktidhama said “Puneeth Rajkumar visited the centre a year before Covid and spent some good time with inmate children here. He also spoke about empowerment of education and also planned to develop educational institutions at Shaktidhama.”
The inmates paid a singing tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar by rendering “Bombe Helutyte…” a hit song from his Rajakumara movie.
As the news of Puneeth Rajkumar’s death was announced yesterday, the inmates of Shaktidhama observed fasting to pay tributes to the legendary actor.
