International Art camp to support cancer patients from November 14 to 23: Bhagya Ajaikumar
2 min readMysuru: The Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery, an initiative of the HCG Foundation based in Bengaluru, in collaboration with I Am 2024, Itsy Bitsy, IHDUA and Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) in Mysuru, will host an International Art Meet at the Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO) premises in Hebbal from November 14 to 23, 2024.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Bhagya Ajaikumar, Director of the Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery, shared details about the upcoming event.
Bhagya Ajaikumar, a renowned artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree from Art Institute of Chicago, emphasised that the event will feature distinguished artists not only from across India but also from international locations including Argentina, Germany, Malaysia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Romania and Taiwan.
During the art camp, from November 14 to 23, participating artists will engage in creating art working in Mysuru.
On November 23, all the art work of artists will be displayed on November 23 between 10am and 5 pm at Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, Mysuru and entry is free for the public.
On November 24, an exclusive preview of the exhibition will be held in Bengaluru, before the works are showcased at the Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery in Bengaluru starting November 25.
The exhibition will be open for a month, offering art lovers ample opportunity to view and purchase the artworks. Notably, all proceeds from the sales of these artworks will be donated to the HCG Foundation, which supports cancer patients in need of medical assistance.
Bhagya Ajaikumar elaborated on the mission of the Swasti Art Gallery: “Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery was launched in 2007 as part of the HCG Foundation’s initiative to promote art while simultaneously raising funds for cancer care. Our gallery has been a hub for organizing art shows, camps, and workshops, with participation from artists worldwide. We aim to create a space where both emerging and established artists can showcase their work, and where art lovers and buyers can come together to support a meaningful cause.
About 4500 patients have been benefited so for through HCG Foundation and Swasti Contemporary Art Gallery. Art Therapy for pediatric patients is also being conducted at HCG Bangalore.
