Jamboo Savari begins amid Rain at Mysore Palace

Mysuru: The much anticipated Jamboo Savari procession in Mysuru began on Saturday, with the traditional Nandidhwaja puja, even as rain the drizzled over the city.

Undeterred by the weather, folk troupes and artistes drenched in the rain, moving in sync with its rhythm, adding a unique charm to the festivities.

The procession featured vibrant tableaux showcasing Karnataka’s rich architectural heritage, natural beauty and the literary contributions of renowned poets like Ranna. Government schemes and milestones, such as the Ksheera Bhagya initiative, were also highlighted in the display.

A total of 140 cultural and folk troupes from across Karnataka, ranging from Bidar to Chamarajanagar are participating in the grand event. They performed with traditional instruments like Dollu, Kamsale and Jaggalige, filling the streets with lively music and colour, making this year’s Dasara procession a spectacular celebration of Karnataka’s cultural richness.
