Kapil Sibal quits Congress, files paper to Rajya Sabha poll as independent with SP’s support
1 min readNew Delhi: Former union minister Kapil Sibal filed his nomination to Rajya Sabha election from Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Sibal who has got Samajwadi Party support filed the nomination with the regional party leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav accompanying him.
Sibal who was one of the G-23 leaders of Congress who had espoused key changes in the grand old party said he had already tendered his resignation to the party on May 16 itself.
Sibal thanked SP leader and former minister Azam Khan for his unwavering support.
