1 min readMysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) President Badagalapura Nagendra on Friday demanded the State Government to drop its plans to celebrate Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara. Be it simple or grand plans, the annual festival should not be conducted at any cost, demanded Nagendra again.
Nagendra told media persons “the Covid cases are still increasing in the state and flood situation has also affected the state. In this backdrop, it would be unfair to celebrate Dasara in the interest of certain sections of the society, to help promote their business”.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa himself has expressed his regrets over the the prevailing economic condition of the state as the situation is not so rosy. When this is the reality, how can the government celebrate Dasara and indulge in unnecessary spending with the state exchequer near empty?, asked Nagendra.
Farmers are facing problems related to procurement of seeds and the substandard and duplicate seeds are adding to more worries. The government should survey and compensate the farmers for the losses they have suffered, demanded Nagendra.
