Lashkar cops arrest seven for youth’s murder

Mysuru: Lashkar police have arrested seven youths on the charges of murdering a youth in the city.

The accused are identified as- Nithin of Ittigegud, Dhanush of Gundurao Nagar, Vignesh of Ittigegud, Girish of Ittigegud, Dhanush of Vijayanagar, Karthik of Ittigegud and Bhaskar of Ittigegud.

The accused had allegedly stabbed Sadakath of Shantinagar to death on September 6.

In his complaint, Hanif a friend of Sadakath who had also sustained stab injuries in the incident had alleged that he along with his two friends- Naushad and Sadakath were having tea in front of a tea shop near KSRTC bus stand, when three picked up a quarrel with us. They later returned with three to four people and picked up a quarrel again.

Hanif has further alleged that “they stabbed me with the intent of murder, while they murdered Sadakath”.

Following the complaint, police had booked a case under IPC sections- 143 (unlawful assembly), 148 (rioting and armed with deadly weapon), 114 (abetment), 307 (murder attempt), 302 (murder) and r/w 149 (common object).

The police team was led by Inspectors Santosh P P (Lashkar), Srikanth (Alanahalli), Jeevan (Nazarbad) and Raju (Udayagiri).

The team included PSIs Gowtham Gowda, Dhanalakshmi and Sunil, ASIs Siddaraju, Kumaraswamy and Doddaiah, head constables Lingaraju, Manjunath, Adam, Mariswamy, Madhukesh and Rachegowda, constables Channappa M Kalloli, Manjunath Gadagaigola, Lalesab Nadaaf, Satya, Mahesh H M, Ramesh, Srinivas, Sameeulla, Mahadeva Prasad and Girish, and H C Kumar of technical wing.
