Mandya Marathon on December 11: DC releases logo

Mandya: Mandya Marathon a State-level running race has been organised on December 11 in the city. Deputy Commissioner Dr H N Gopalakrishna released the logo.
The five-km long marathon has been organised as a part of Kannada Rajyotsava with a slogan- ‘ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಓಡು-ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಾಳು’ (Run For Kannada, Live For Kannada).
The marathon will start from 6 AM from K V Shankare Gowda road next to Tourists Bungalow, and will pass through Tahsildar office, district jail, Kyathangere layout and culminate at Bevinahalli village gate, said Kayakayogi Foundation President M Shivakumar.
The marathon is organised every year as part of Kannada Rajyotsava to create awareness on better health among general public and sports persons. Policemen, sportsmen, college students, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, volunteers of organisations and rural youths will run in the marathon.
The participants will be given t-shirt and certificate.
The marathon is organised in the categories of men, women and senior citizens. The first prize winners will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000, second prize- Rs 7,500 and third prize- Rs 5,000.
