MLA Tanveer Sait calls it quits; supporters threaten suicide

Mysuru: Congress MLA from Narasimharaja Constituency Tanveer Sait on Tuesday announced that he will retire from active politics. This came as a huge shock to his followers who gathered in large number in front of his residence demanding him to change his decision.
Some of the emotionally-charged supporters attempted suicide and ond even went to the extent of threatening to set himself ablaze.
MLA Sait said that he has already written to AICC and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee presidents stating his willingness to quit politics due to health reasons. “I will wait for their decision,” he said.
