Mysurean Gagandeep secures two gold medals, bronze in boxing

Mysuru: Here is a promising boxer from Mysuru.

In his last three boxing competitions, Gagandeep Kumar U has managed to win two gold medals and a bronze medal in the inter-club boxing competition which was held in Mysuru and Bengaluru where participants from across the state took part.

10-year-old Gagandeep Kumar, studying in fifth standard at St Joseph’s Central School in Vijayanagar, started boxing just a year back but managed to do well in four competitions which he took part in.

Especially in the last three inter club competitions he managed to win two gold medals and a bronze.

Just a month back, in Mysuru, in the state level Karnataka Urban Games Boxing Championship organized by Urban Games Association of Karnataka, in the 37kg category he managed to win gold. It was also his maiden gold medal.

Later in the similar competition in Bengaluru, he continued his winning streak securing second gold medal. 

Later in another competition organized by Gladiators Boxing Academy in Bengaluru he managed to win a bronze medal.

To start with he was trained by former national boxer Albert. While in Bengaluru he is being trained under the watchful eyes of L Anil Kumar, founder President of Gladiators Boxing Academy.

In Mysuru he is trained under Jaswanth S, Mysore University Kickboxing coach. He is equally supported and guided by his uncle K Udaya Kumar.

He is the son of Uday Kumar R and K Nithya couple.
