Mysuru: Mysuru district Congress rural committee president Dr B J Vijaykumar on Friday called Mysuru and Kodagu MP Prathap Simha as ‘accidental MP’. Simha has no history of taking part in any struggle or movements, chided Vijay Kumar.

Taking a dig at Simha, Vijay Kumar said “BJP leaders are unaware about congress and its role in nation building. According to Simha, Congress party will collapse. He is under the impression that his swift growth in politics came like that, without any hardwork. He can be equated with the protagonist in Tamil film like ‘Ek Din Ka Sultan’.

On the rumours that the Congress party is planning ‘Operation Hasta’ to woo the rebels in the saffron party, Vijaykumar said “the internal bickering and intolerance is nothing new and Congress party has no role in it”.

Later KPCC spokesperson  M Lakshmana predicted the fall of a democratic set up in the country as the central government is harping towards private parties. It is evident with the recent deisions to sell its stakes in profit making public sector companies. The power sector is also going to meet the same fate”.

State government and central government packages are of no use, there is no growth in GDP rate and remains stagnant. Beginning from the year 2014, the government has sold 25 public sector firms, he claimed.

Former chairperson of Karnataka State Women’s Commission Manjula Manasa, City congress president R Murthy were present.
