Mysuru: Tourists visiting Mysuru have a new destination to explore. They can fly on a space tour unfettered without fearing about the gravity.
In a first of its kind, Mysuru Utsava as part of Gruha Shobe at JSS Ground at Doddakere Maidana offers a Space Tour for the visitors
Krishnaraja MLA S A Ramadass along with Simon Exhibitors Director MS Nagachandra opened the Utsav on Friday.
With the surge in tourist footfalls in Mysuru, the organisers have opened a new space to make it a best exhibition cum tourism hub for the tourists and visitors alike.
Unlike previous years when the Covid-19 pandemic restricted people and tourists to indoors, the present situation seems conducive with the people having developed enough immunity to explore in whatsoever the situation they are in.
The recreation of solar system, Sun, Moon and other planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune), followed by artificial man made satellites launched into space, form the main theme of exhibits. The visitors can also come across a walk-through model of the International Space Station and the feel of the Martian environment (Mars: The Red planet – our next home). Selfie spots have also been created to take selfies with aliens.
One can also see lighting prospects of other stars, planetary systems, star clusters, galaxies and the ever expanding Universe.
For those interested in the solar system, they can avail scientific information about the solar system and space. For the convenience of visitors, a detailed audio visual display about space trips on LED wall is also arranged.
More than 100 outlets: The expo is also a must visit for people who are on the lookout for furniture in various designs, electronic items, household appliances. From small company products to multinational company products all are available under one roof. Dress materials, readymade clothing, saree, kurta pyjama, shirting and suitings are also available at the expo.
Everyday there will be cultural programmes and for children there are also amusement parks to spend a good time.
Simon Exhibitors Director MS Nagachandra opined “Mysuru Utsava is conceptualised to give a new approach to the tourism and marketing scenario. Simon Exhibitors has been in the forefront organising big exhibitions across the state and country. Space Tour gives an unique experience and it is also first in India, visitors can peek into the space sticking to the ground, added Nagachandra .
Mysuru Utsava will be open between 11 AM and 10 PM up to May 29. The entry fee is Rs 50 for children (five years and above) and adults.
