Nagamangala town police raid lodge, arrest 7 kidnappers from Bengaluru
1 min readMandya: A gang of seven from Bengaluru was arrested on kidnapping charges from a lodge in Nagamangala on Friday.
The accused are Mahesh, Mohan, Navyant, Bharat, Joseph, Ravikiran and Raju all from Vidyaranyapuram in Bengaluru. They were later handed over to Tilak Nagar police of Bengaluru.
The kidnappers had had taken a youth identified as Naveen from an affluent family in Bengaluru, two days ago. They had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh to release him.
To avoid being caught by the police , they had shifted to SLN Grand Residency Lodge in Nagamangala town with the help of their friends Satish, Mahesh and Girish. They had checked into two rooms in the lodge. After collecting Rs 30,000 from the youth’s family, they had released him.
However, to their bad luck they couldn’t avoid police from nabbing them. The youth called his parents and informed them about his release. They in turn informed Tilak Nagar police where they had lodged a kidnap complaint. The police contacted the youth and collected information related to the place where he was held hostage.
They later informed Nagamangala PSI Ravikiran about the case. A police Team led by Ravikiran raided the lodge and arrested the kidnappers who were all partying at that time.
The police team included probationary PSI Sridhar, personnel Ramesh, Revanna, Shankraiah, Siddappa and driver Rajesh.
