Newly married woman ends life over dowry harassment at T Narsipur

Mysuru: A newly married woman committed suicide allegedly by hanging at her house in T Narsipur.
Divya (23) wife of Deepak is the deceased. Divya hailing from T Maralli in T Narsipur taluk was married to Deepak of T Narsipur nine months ago.
Deepak who was into cattle rearing in Bengaluru at the time of marriage, had quit later and returned to T Narsipur. He was addicted to liquor and was demanding his father a share in property. However his father had denied to do so. Enraged he allegedly started harassing his wife to bring dowry.
Unable to bear the harassment, Divya allegedly took the extreme step.
A dowry case has been registered against Divya’s in-laws, husband and sister-in-law.
