Ninth edition of Mysuru Children’s Literature Festival 2024 on November 30
2 min readMysuru: Mysuru Literary Forum Charitable Trust and Mysuru Book Clubs 2015 is organising the Ninth Edition of the Mysuru Children’s Literature Festival, on November 30 from 2 PM to 6.30 PM, at Wind Chimes, Nazarbad, in the city.
The entry is free to everyone and for the children aged 4 years and above.
Festival inauguration :
Sculptor Arun Yogiraj, celebrated for crafting the Ram Lalla idol for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, will inaugurate the festival and share his journey of creativity and excellence.
Commissioner of Police Seema Latkar will release the books and distribute the prizes to the winners of the Inter- school General Knowledge Competition held on October 26 and the winners of the short story writing contest .
Authors, storytellers, story book reading, illustrators, robotics, ventriloquist and music are the main attractions this year.
This year’s festival features an impressive lineup of authors and storytellers who will host individual sessions, engaging young minds with their stories and creativity:
Three debut authors: Shama Thakare, Sharon Dev (from Mumbai ) and Srivalli Sreenivasan (Bengaluru)
Three authors: Ramya Srinidhi and Shreya Narayanan (from Bengaluru) who have written about bravery, courage and mystery .
One author: Anupama K Benachinamardi (from Bengaluru) has written about nature and winged wonders
Ghanesh Venkatesh (from Mysuru) has written about mystery and gadgets and robots.
Three story tellers: Arun Urs, Namratha Urs and Chandini (from Mysuru) will speak about winged wonders and secret stories in stone.
Two illustrators: Vanya Joseph and Senthil (from Chennai) will bring alive the characters in the books.
Story book reading by: Dr Nima Manjrekar
Ventriloquist: Suma Rajkumar, also a magician will mesmerise the audience with well-synced performances.
Panel Discussions
In addition to individual sessions, the festival will host two thought-provoking panels:
1. Shama Thakare and Vanya Joseph: Exploring the art of crafting modern stories for today’s young readers along with Nima Manjrekar
2. Arun Urs and Namratha Urs: A delightful session on butterflies, their magical world, and their significance in nature and stories.
