Mysuru: To protect the health and well-being of the community, Seshadripuram Degree College, Mysuru in association with Government Primary Health Care Unit, Hebbal, NSS, NCC & IQAC had organised a ‘Free Vaccination Drive ‘ for students and staff members on the college campus on Wednesday.
The vaccination drive was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.
The drive was well planned and it was executed successfully as around 500 individuals were vaccinated in the day by administering the Covishield vaccine.
This drive shows the commitment and social
responsibility from the side of the college and management which has made an impact on ‘Marali Collegige’ the vaccination drive in Karnataka which aims to vaccinate college
students and teachers.
Students above 18 years of age, academic and non-academic staff took part in the drive with a lot of enthusiasm.
NSS and NCC students from the college involved themselves with a lot of excitement and discipline during vaccination drive by maintaining queue system, orderly issue of tokens, and helping every individual starting from the registration process through the Cowin web portal up to the individual getting vaccinated, under the guidance of Dr Raghavendra R, NSS Programme Officer and Kumar R, NCC programme officer.
The doctors and nurses including other medical professionals from the government
primary health care unit took part in the drive.
They took a lot of care and concern while conducting the RT- PCR COVID-19 testing as a precautionary measure, injecting the Covishield vaccine, monitoring after vaccination along with other medical assistance.
The world is in the midst of a COVID-19 pandemic and the nation works together with WHO which aims at tracking the pandemic, taking preventive measures, advising on critical interventions, vital medical supplies and ultimately distributing vaccines. Hence this Free Vaccination Drive is a commendable act as we all know that vaccination is a key step in fighting against the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Prof Sowmya K Erappa, Principal, Seshadripuram Degree College and all other teaching and non-teaching staff were present.
