Mysuru: Dasara-2024 is for the pets too, who also joined in the festivities, fully dressed and participating in a lively show.

Dogs and cats of various breeds were the stars, captivating the attention of visitors at the Pet Show organised by Raitha Dasara Sub-Committee at J K Grounds in the city on Sunday.

The pet lovers from Mysuru and surrounding cities brought their cherished animals to showcase. The event featured over 40 breeds and more than 500 dogs, including Shih Tzus, Golden Retrievers, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Siberian Huskies, Labradors, German Shepherds and Great Danes.

Persian cats and birds also added to the diversity of participants at the mega pet show.

Dr Sudha Murty, Chairperson of Narayanamurthy Foundation and a Rajya Sabha member, attended the event with her beloved pet dog- Golden Retriever named Gopi.

She shared her thoughts, noting that pet dogs offer love and joy, second only to a mother’s affection. She encouraged those unable to care for their own pets to consider feeding and caring for street dogs.

Another standout at the event was Mysurean Priya, whose pet dog, Feudal, was dressed immaculately, drawing the admiration of hundreds of attendees.
