Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that the double-engine governments are accelerating the development work in the State. Earlier, the focus was more on the major cities but the BJP government has changed the narrative and is more concerned about tier 2 and tier 3 cities, PM Modi said.

He further said that with such airports in tier 2 abd tier 3 cities, air traveling will get a boost thereby increase in employment and development of the region. He also hoped that with a boost in air traveling, days won’t be far when Indians will travel in airplanes made in India.

“Before 2014, there were only 74 airports that were built in seven decades. But in the last nine years, the BJP government has built 74 airports,” he informed.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, MP BY Raghavendra and others were present.
