Pourakarmikas perform last rites of electrocuted monkey with full honours

K R Nagar: A monkey that was electrocuted in Saligrama village was given a heart-touching farewell.
The monkey apparently got electrocuted after it touched a live wire. Pourakarmikas who saw this, removed its carcass and decided to give a respectful funeral.
They offered prayers to it and adorned the remains with flowers. It was taken in a procession in the village where villagers offered puja and contributed their mite towards the funeral.
Later, the monkey was laid to rest complete with ritual.
Neerganti Vasanth of Saligrama village, pourakarmikas Harish, Manjunath, Shivaraj and others were present.
