Preparations made to restart Mysugar Factory within July 25: Minister Gopalaiah
2 min readMandya: Excise and district incharge minister K Gopalaiah on Thursday said “preparations have been made to restart Mysugar Factory between July 15 and 25”.
The minister was speaking after inspecting the factory and discussing with the officials.
“The work order will be issued to two companies after seeking permission from the government to start restoration works at the factory from May 2. They have been given 60 to 70 days time to complete the works”.
As many as 200 to 250 labourers will be coming for restoration works. The officials have been told to take up repair works of the quarters to accommodate them. Facilities like electricity, drinking water, toilet among other basic facilities will be provided to them.
Technical and Financial Committees have been formed to take up restoration works of the factory. It has to be ensured that the factory won’t stop operations in the coming days. Before restarting the factory, administrative, financial and technical reports have also been taken, the minister added.
The process of buying sugar cane from the farmers should also start simultaneously. Hence the offices have been opened at hobli level and publicity activities have been undertaken to inform the farmers. It has been directed to procure sugar cane required for six to seven months, said Gopalaiah.
Sericulture, Youth Services and Sports Minister Dr K C Narayan Gowda said “as the repair works will resume at the factory, adequate police security has to be arranged at the factory. CCTV cameras must be installed at work area and factory gates”.
Gowda said “the factory should resume operations by July and measures will be taken to release funds for the repair of the machinery”.
Mysugar MD Patel Appa Saheb explained about the works. Deputy Commissioner S Ashwathi, ZP CEO Divya Prabhu, SP Yatish, Assistant Commissioner B C Shuvananda Murthy, Mysugar Chairman Shivalinge Gowda and others were present.
