Puneeth Rajkumar’s eyes successfully transplanted to visually challenged persons

Bengaluru: The eyes of actor Puneeth Rajkumar was successfully transplanted to two visually challenged persons at a hospital in the city.
The operation to transplant the eyes were performed at Narayana Netralaya.
While one eye was transplanted on Saturday another was transplanted on Sunday.
Following the death of Puneeth Rajkumar (46) due to sudden cardiac arrest on Friday, the family members decided to donate his eyes as per his wish.
The procedure to remove the eyes was completed within six hours of his death, at Vikram Hospital.
Similarly, when Dr Rajkumar died at the age of 76 on April 12, 2006, the family members had donated the thespian actor’s eyes.
It was also the wish of Dr Rajkumar who had voiced for the cause of visually challenged persons and had pledged the eyes of his family members.
