Holiday for schools, colleges in DK on October 26 too

Dakshina Kannada: In the wake of heavy rans from October 23, district administration has declared holiday for schools, colleges for consecutive second day on October 26 too.
According to a notification received from the deputy commissioner’s office, the decision has been taken in the wake of the predictions of heavy rain in the coastal area due to the depression in Arabian sea and Lakshadweep.
Following the rains, district disaster management authority has taken precautionary measures.
The precautionary measures are- one day holiday for anganwadis, government, aided and private educational insitutions ( Till PU level), parents should restrain their children from going towards sea, lake and low lying areas, fishermen restricted from fishing for next three days, district and taluk level officials should remain in the headquarters, nodal officers deputed at various places should be in touch with the district control room and respond to the complaints immediately and tourists and general public should not venture into sea.
